Terms of service
Last updated 4 September 2026
These terms apply when you order a PageBurst website. They are written in plain English on purpose. If anything here is unclear, email us before you order and we will explain it.
1. Who we are
PageBurst is a product of Lightwork Ecommerce Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17176001. You can reach us at hello@lightworkecommerce.com. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “Lightwork” mean Lightwork Ecommerce Ltd, and “you” means the person or business placing the order.
2. What you are buying
A PageBurst site is a single-page website built from the answers you give us in the order form. The build is AI-assisted and human-checked: we use AI tools to turn your brief into a first draft of the page, and then a person at Lightwork checks and finishes every page before you see it. Nothing is published without a person having looked at it.
The build is not self-service and nothing is generated while you wait. When your order arrives, a person at Lightwork runs the build on your brief and reviews the result. That is why we quote a turnaround in working days rather than minutes.
3. Timescales
Your site will be live within two working days. The two working days run from the point at which we have both a complete brief and your payment. Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays in England and Wales.
If your brief is missing something we need to build the page (for example your business name, the contact details you want shown, or the services you offer), we will email you to ask for it, and the two working days start once we have it.
4. Price and payment
The build fee is shown on the pricing page and is paid up front, through Stripe, when you place your order. The price you pay is the price shown at the time you order.
Hosting for your first month is included in the build fee. From month two, hosting is charged monthly at the rate shown on the pricing page (see section 7). If you choose to host the site yourself, there is nothing further to pay.
All prices exclude VAT, or the equivalent local tax where you are. Tax is added at checkout where it applies. Prices are shown in the currency for your location and you can switch currency on the site.
5. Changes before your site goes live
When your draft is ready we will send you a link to review it. One round of changes is included before the site goes live: send us your amendments in one list and we will make them. Further rounds of changes, and changes after the site is live, are charged at the rate on the pricing page.
6. Refunds
If you are not happy with your site before it goes live, tell us and we will refund the build fee in full. You do not need to give a reason.
Once the site is live, the build fee is not refundable, because the work has been done and delivered. Hosting can be ended at any point under section 7. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
7. Hosting
From month two, hosting is a monthly rolling agreement, billed monthly. Either of us can end it by giving 30 days’ notice. There is no minimum term beyond that notice period. If you end hosting, your site stays live until the end of the notice period and we will give you a copy of your site files.
Your site is hosted on servers in the UK. We look after the server and keep it maintained, but we cannot promise that your site will never be unavailable. If there is a problem, email us and we will put it right as quickly as we can.
8. You own your site
Once you have paid, the finished site (the copy, the layout and the files we produce) belongs to you. You can download a copy at any time and host it anywhere you like. There is no exit fee, and if you self-host there is nothing to pay each month.
The material you give us (your logo, photos and text) remains yours. You give us permission to use it to build and host your site. We keep ownership of our own tools, templates and build process.
9. Extra pages, changes and mailboxes
Extra pages, changes after go-live and email mailboxes are priced on the pricing page. Order them by email and we will confirm the cost before any work starts.
10. Your content and acceptable use
- You confirm that you have the right to use everything you give us, including photos, logos and text, and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of what your site says about your business, including any prices, qualifications, accreditations or guarantees.
- We may decline to build, or may take down, a site that is unlawful, misleading or infringes someone’s rights. If we decline a brief before starting work, we will refund you in full.
- A PageBurst site may not be used for spam, phishing, malware or anything else that could harm other people or systems.
11. Moving up to a Lightwork website
If you outgrow a one-page site, Lightwork builds multi-page websites by hand. You can see what is included on the Lightwork website pricing page. Your PageBurst site stays yours whether or not you move up.
12. Liability
We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business or loss of data arising from your use of the site, except where the law says we must be. Our total liability to you under these terms is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page is the one that applies. If we make a change that affects your hosting, we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect.
14. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring a claim in your local courts.
